President, Chief Executive Officer & Chairman
Robert Orr is a seasoned corporate development strategist with 20+ years of public practice and executive experience. Robert has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Victoria and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. Currently, he is the Company’s President and CEO. Prior to his current role, he was CFO and VP business development of a TSX listed mining company.
Before his executive roles in the industry, Robert was a Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), providing complex financial advisory services that included fairness opinions, valuations, due diligence and buy/sell side advice to private/public companies and the public sector. Robert was also the HR partner for PwC’s Advisory practice in BC and worked as a tax advisor with Deloitte for the first half of his professional career. Mr. Orr co-founded the Company in June 2010.
Inventor, Managing Director Engineering - Emeritus
Ken Kunz is the inventor of the Contino® (formerly the Comfort Plug). At 76 years of age, Ken was diagnosed with prostate cancer and was left completely incontinent following a radical prostatectomy in 2007.
As a tenacious and inventive problem solver, he figured out “how to plug the drain” and continues to actively participate with the Company and uses the device every day. He has safely inserted and removed the Comfort Plug 15,000+ times. Mr. Kunz co-founded the Company in June 2010. Ken worked with Trans Canada Airlines/Air Canada for 35+ years and retired from the commercial airline industry in 1986.
Vice President Engineering
Nicole Ranger is a P.Eng. with 20+ years’ experience in medical device and consumer product development. In addition, Nicole has extensive experience in the manufacture of medical devices and the maintenance of ISO and QSR compliant quality systems.
Nicole completed a Bachelor of Science, Honours Kinesiology, from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Toronto. Ancillary professional activities include applied research for UBC and the management of intellectual property portfolios while in various industry roles. Nicole began working with the Company in 2015.
VP Finance & Administration
Barbara Towns is a Chartered Professional Accountant with 25+ years of experience in accounting and finance. She has worked in financial planning and forecasting at Weyerhaeuser and BC Hydro and began her career in the audit and corporate finance departments of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Barbara completed a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and was a Dean's Honour Roll student during the entirety of her undergraduate studies. Barbara first joined the Company in 2018 as Corporate Controller and has been instrumental in establishing the Company's financial systems, treasury management and compliance functions.
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Andrew Tinkl is a Marketing and Sales professional with over 25 years of experience working in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Life360 in 2020, he worked at Johnson & Johnson and LifeScan in the consumer healthcare, medical device and pharmaceutical sectors gaining a broad range of experience creating strategic sales and marketing programs targeted towards consumers, health care professionals and the retail trade. Having worked in multiple therapeutic categories including arthritis, migraine, asthma & allergy, dermatology, diabetes and oral health Andrew has many perspectives on how to undertake the challenges of creating a successful healthcare business centered on ensuring the best possible outcome for patients and their care providers.
Andrew completed a Bachelor of Science, Biology from McMaster University and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and graduate of the J&J Advertising school.
Director Professional Sales
Iris Kalbfleisch is a sales professional with over 25 years of experience working in the healthcare industry having worked with Pfizer Canada in progressive roles including specialty pharmaceutical sales representative. She has also consulted to 29 of the top 30 pharmaceutical companies in a range of areas including coaching top performing sales individuals and benchmarking sales individuals and teams against KPIs for strategic alignment of sales and marketing to accelerate high performance.
Iris completed a Bachelor of Arts, Administrative Commercial Studies (Finance and Economics) from University of Western Ontario and is a Certified Facilitator, Creative Problem Solving Group (CPS).
Having worked in multiple therapeutic categories including arthritis, migraine, asthma & allergy, dermatology, diabetes, oncology, cardiology, immunology and respirology, Iris has extensive experience and a proven track record of driving sales through consultative selling and collaborating with Health Care Professionals to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve patient well-being and health in parallel with commercial growth.
Dr. Robert Gayton is a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of experience in accounting and finance. He is currently a director and chair/member of the audit and other committees of the following public companies: Amerigo Resources Ltd., B2Gold Corp., Eastern Platinum Limited, Western Copper and Gold Corporation and Nevsun Resources.
Prior to 1987, Dr. Gayton was an audit partner with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell Chartered Accountants and a member of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in both Ontario and BC and holds a Ph.D. in Business from the University of California, Berkley. Dr. Gayton joined the Company’s Advisory Committee in 2013 and the Company’s board in 2014.
Roger Kuypers is a partner in the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group of the international law firm Fasken Martineau LLP (Faskens). He works primarily with businesses and institutions focused on the development, acquisition and commercialization of intellectual property, including life sciences technologies, information technologies and trade-marks.
Roger is the regional Chair of Fasken's Biotechnology and Life Sciences Practice group. His clients include biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical companies and health authorities. As well, Roger leads the Trade-marks Prosecution Group i the Vancouver office and assists clients with copyright and patent assignments. Mr. Kuypers join the Company's board in 2011.
Michael Bowie is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. He has over 30 years of advisory experience, having recently retired from the partnership of KPMG LLP. Michael continues to advise businesses and institutions on transaction related activities, including financings, acquisitions, pricing analyses, fairness opinions and valuations. Michael brings significant industry experience in Consumer Markets & Products, Retail, Food & Beverage and private equity.
Michael also serves as a Director for a number of private companies and is a recognized expert on valuation and related matters, often serving as an expert witness, arbitrator, mediator or Special Referee in disputed financial matters. Mr. Bowie joined Life360’s Advisory Committee in February 2014 and its Board in October 2014.
Dr. Michael Holloway
Board Member & Medical Advisory Committee
Dr. Michael Holloway is a creative strategic thinker who brings a diverse skill set and 30 years of medical and business experience to complex problem solving in a wide range of industries and situations. Most recently, as an emergency physician with the Fraser Health Region for almost 20 years, Michael has developed a strong ability to analyse diverse medical and related issues and help patients and their families effectively manage their health.
Michael did his medical training in Alberta and obtained an honours business degree at the Richard Ivey School of Business, from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to attending medical school, Michael excelled in a diverse business career that included management consulting, real estate development, and commodity trading. Dr. Holloway joined the Company’s board and medical advisory committee in 2015.
Dr. David Gayton
Medical Advisory Committee
Dr. David Gayton retired from his medical practice in 2015 after nearly 40 years of practice and research in internal and geriatric medicine. David obtain a BSc, PhD, and MD from the University of British Columbia and was a post-doctoral fellow of the Open University, Oxford, England.
David held various academic appointments at McGill University for over 20 years and published extensively in a variety of areas but focused primarily on the elderly. Funding for the research came from both industry and government. In 1997, Dr. Gayton moved back to BC with the Fraser Health Authority to develop geriatric services in the region. This included a continence clinic in White Rock and thus he has first-hand experience of the huge impact that urinary incontinence (UI) has on the older population. Dr. Gayton joined the medical advisory committee in 2015.
Dr. Stephen Kline
Medical Advisory Committee
Dr. Stephen Kline is a practicing psychiatrist and clinical professor with over 40 years of experience. Stephen obtain his medical degree from the University of Alberta and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Toronto.
Stephen’s areas of special interest and accomplishments include: psychoanalysis mental health law and psychosomatics. As well, Stephen has published extensively on a range of subjects and has received research grants from both industry and government. He believes that UI and mental health are closely linked and that UI sufferers would benefit from an integrated approach to treatment. Dr. Kline joined the medical advisory committee in 2015.
Paul Moore is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator with over a decade of experience in accounting and finance. Prior to joining Life360 in 2018, he worked in the advisory practices of KPMG LLP and Smythe LLP, where he focused on valuation, financial modeling and business planning services, as well as corporate acquisitions and divestitures. Paul completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Accounting, from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan.
